Contest Guidelines

Are you looking for an original way to help your friends stay drug free? If so, the RCMP is looking for you! We invite you to create a 30-second drug prevention video to be used as a role modeling tool as part of an education package for youth across Canada.

By participating, you also have a chance to win:

An autographed Sidney Crosby Canadian Olympic jersey (retail value $1400),

an Apple 8g iPod touch (retail value $199)

a Brett Lawrie/Adam Loewen autographed Toronto Blue Jays t-shirt (retail value $30)

…winners will be awarded not one, but two prizes!!

Get started! Here are some guidelines to assist you:

• The main focus of the video must be to promote drug prevention and awareness and to encourage fellow youth to do the same.
• This contest is for students in grades 7 to 12 across the country.
• The video must be between 30 seconds to 1 minute in length.
• The video can be in English or in French.
• You will be judged based on: content, creativity/artistry, public feedback, quality of video and technical skill
• Videos must be entirely your own creation and never have been previously published or entered in any other contest.
• If music is used, it must be royalty free in the case where the video may be used in future advertisement for Canadian Champions.
• Each entry is limited to one video production.
• The video must not contain any representation of nudity, foul language, offensive, racist or inappropriate comments, violence or the promotion of drugs via the production or clothing worn in the making of the video.  
• Accepted formats: WebM files, .MPEG4, .MOV, .AVI, .MPEGPS, .WMV, and .FLV
• If you or the youth in your video are under 18 years of age, consent from a parent or legal guardian must be provided for each person on the consent form.

Remember, this video is for youth. Be original, get creative and speak out to your peers. Don’t be afraid to be yourself and get edgy with your video production.

Please note that by submitting a video to the Canadian Champions Video Contest, the contestant agrees that the video complies with all of the conditions stated, and acknowledges that the video is now Canadian Champions property.
