RCMP investigating suspicious fire

The West District RCMP is investigating a fire that destroyed a vacant a home in Scotchtown, N.B., and is seeking information from the public to help determine what happened.

On January 5, 2017, at approximately 5:45 p.m., police and firefighters responded to a report of a fire on Scotchtown Road. A vacant home was on fire and was completely destroyed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it has been deemed suspicious by police.

A blue Ford Escape SUV was seen in the area near the time of the fire and police are seeking to speak to the occupants of the SUV or anyone who may have information about the fire.

Anyone with information, or who may have seen something suspicious around the home prior to the fire is asked to contact the Keswick RCMP at 506-357-4300.
