Alcohol considered a factor in Sunday evening collision

On January 8th shortly after 6:00 p.m., RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 4th Avenue and 2nd Avenue in Whitehorse.

The collision between a Kia Rio and a Dodge Ram sent one driver to hospital with minor injuries.

The investigation at the scene resulted in the arrest of a 21-year-old Whitehorse woman.

"The driver blew over three times the legal limit, and is facing charges of impaired driving," said Corporal Shawn Pollard of Yukon RCMP Traffic Services. "Impaired driving enforcement continues to be a priority for the RCMP. If you suspect an impaired driver, please treat it as an emergency, pull over and call 911."

This matter is still under investigation.
