At approximately 11:00 a.m. on December 27, 2016, Burin Peninsula RCMP was called to a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Route 220 near Black Brook.
A 60-year-old male driver and 46-year-old female passenger from one of the vehicles were transported to the Burin Peninsula Regional Hospital with serious injuries. Later in the evening, both were airlifted to a hospital in St. John's.
The 18-year-old driver and 21-year-old passenger from the second vehicle were transported to the Burin Peninsula Regional Hospital with minor injuries.
At the time of the crash the roads were snow covered in the area.
A RCMP Collision Analyst attended the location to assist with the investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
