An ounce of prevention is all it took for this homeowner

November 7, 2019
North Kentville, Nova Scotia

News release

Shortly before 6 a.m. on November 7, a homeowner heard noises outside their home, and saw two people in their yard. They appeared to be carrying what appeared to be a tool chest and at one point tried the doors on both vehicles parked in the homeowner's driveway. Both vehicles were locked, so the suspect didn't gain access to the vehicles.

The homeowner is not missing any tools and did not have anything else stolen from their yard. RCMP in Kings County are asking residents of the North Kentville area to ensure their belongings are properly secured. If you are missing items, please contact police. Police are also asking for public assistance to identify the man seen in the video.

Anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area during the early morning hours of November 7, or anyone with information about the identity of the man in the video is asked to contact the RCMP at 902 679-5555. Should you wish to remain anonymous, please call Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers toll free at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477), submit a secure web tip at, or use the P3 Tips App.
