Man wanted for attempted murder now in custody

A 25-year-old man who had been wanted on a warrant of arrest on charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault is now in custody.

Olivier Tumba, of Moncton presented himself at the Codiac Regional RCMP detachment on the afternoon of October 18, 2019. A warrant for his arrest had been issued in Moncton Provincial Court on October 16.

The charges stem from a shooting that took place on October 9 at a licensed establishment on Champlain Street in Dieppe. When RCMP arrived they found two men, ages 32 and 25, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries.

Olivier Tumba will be remanded into custody and will appear in court in Moncton on October 21.
