New Harbour man charged following threats against Department of Justice employee

Sixty-three-year-old Edward Gellately of New Harbour was arrested on Friday evening, November 29, 2019, by members of Harbour Grace RCMP, with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services.

He appeared in court on Saturday, November 30, to face Criminal Code charges of intimidation of a justice participant, careless use of a firearm, and careless storage of a firearm.

Gellately remains in custody, with his next court appearance set for Tuesday, December 3, 2019, in St. John's.
