Passenger faces multiple charges after removal from American Airlines flight diverted to Happy Valley-Goose Bay

Today, 31-year-old Edward John A. Myhill of London, England, is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Happy Valley-Goose Bay at 1:30 p.m. to answer to charges laid following his removal from an American Airlines flight yesterday. The flight, which was enroute from Heathrow to Chicago, was diverted to Happy Valley-Goose Bay and a complaint made to the RCMP. Responding officers arrested Myhill, who was held in custody and charged with the following offences:

Under the Criminal Code

Section 266 Assault - flight attendant

Section.264.1 Threats - flight attendant

Section 430(3) Mischief

Under the Aeronautics Act

Section 7.41(1A) Engaged in activity which endangered safety of a flight or persons on board

Section 7.41(1B) Engaged in activity which endangered the safety of a flight or persons on board by lessening the flight crew's ability to perform their duties
