RCMP investigating suspicious fire at a business

The Southeast District RCMP is asking for the public's assistance in relation to a suspicious fire in Grand-Barachois, N.B.

On September 15, 2019, at about 3:30 a.m., members of the Shediac detachment responded to a fire at an ice cream shop on Route 133, near the Barachois wharf. The business was closed for the season, and the investigation has led police to believe the fire was suspicious in nature.

The investigation into the cause is ongoing, and police are working closely with the New Brunswick Office of the Fire Marshal.

Anyone with information about the fire or who may have seen anyone in the area of the business prior to the start of the fire is asked to contact the Shediac RCMP at 506-533-5151.
