Steinbach RCMP arrest teen for uttering threats and weapon charges

On September 18, 2019, at approximately 2:50 pm, RCMP responded to a report that a student had brought a pellet gun to school and had threatened another student at Steinbach Regional Secondary School.

Numerous officers immediately attended the school, which was on lockdown, and police conducted a thorough search of the building. The school was cleared and it was determined that the suspect had left the area.

Officers followed up on several tips and located the suspect at approximately 4:30 pm outside a residence on Mckenzie Avenue in Steinbach.

The suspect, a 15-year-old male from Steinbach, was arrested and is facing charges of Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Carrying a Concealed Weapon x 2, Uttering Threats and Assault.

Police continue to search for the pellet gun.

Steinbach RCMP continue to investigate.
