Traffic stop in Eskasoni leads to drug charges

On September 17, members of Eskasoni RCMP were conducting regular patrols on Shore Rd. During a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle was arrested for drug offences. Police searched the vehicle and seized quantities of Oxycodone (Percocet) tablets and Methylphenidate (Ritalin) tablets. Cell phones and cash were also seized during the search.

Nadine Christine Sampson, 42, of Sydney, has been charged with Possession of Oxycodone (Percocet) for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Possession of Methylphenidate (Ritalin) for the Purpose of Trafficking. Sampson was released on conditions and is set to appear in Eskasoni Provincial Court on December 3, 2019.

Eskasoni RCMP and Chief and Counsel of Eskasoni First Nation are working together to address the community's concerns about drug use.
