Types of online child sexual exploitation

Online child sexual exploitation can take many forms, including:

  • Child sex abuse material (pictures, videos, cartoon imagery, written materials)
  • Luring
  • Making sexually explicit material available to a child
  • Travelling to sexually exploit a child
  • Trafficking or exploiting a child through prostitution
  • Making arrangements or agreeing to commit a sexual offence against a child
  • Sextortion
  • Non-consensual distribution of an intimate image
