Man facing three firearm-related offences following incident in Central Blissville

A 43-year-old man from Central Blissville, N.B., is facing three firearm-related offences following an incident in the community.

On October 8, 2021, at approximately 6:10 p.m., members of the Oromocto RCMP responded to a report of shots fired from a home on Duplissea Road.

A 43-year-old man, who was the sole occupant of the home, was armed and barricaded and refused to cooperate with police. Police asked residents in the area to stay indoors and shelter in place as a precaution.

At approximately 4 a.m., on October 9, members of the New Brunswick RCMP Emergency Response Team arrested the 43-year-old man without incident. Nobody was injured.

Paul Edward White appeared in court by way of tele-remand on October 9 and was charged with careless use of a firearm. An additional charge of discharging a firearm with intent was laid on October 12.

Paul Edward White remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on October 14, at 10 a.m., for a bail hearing.

The investigation is ongoing.
