Appeal for information on luring and sexualized assaults targeting female youth

The RCMP's Specialized Response Unit is asking the public to come forward with any information related to possible online luring and sexualized assaults targeting female youth in the Whitehorse area between January 2023 and March 2023.

In August, 2023, 22-year-old Parneet Singh of Whitehorse was charged with Sexual Interference and Sexual Assault related to incidents which occurred between January and March of 2023 in the Whitehorse area.

It is believed that Singh had used social media applications such as Snapchat to communicate with underage girls and offer to buy them alcohol. He may have been using the name "Neet".

Anyone who may have information is being asked to contact the Whitehorse RCMP or Specialized Response Unit at 867 667 5555.

Victim Services: Victim Services provides services and help for victims dealing with a range of different crimes, regardless of whether or not the victim has reported the crime, a charge has been laid, or there has been a conviction.

Third Party reporting: Third Party Reporting is an option for victims of sexualized assault who have made the informed decision not to report the crime directly to the RCMP, but may want to share details of their case anonymously. It is often difficult to speak about sexualized assaults. Police work closely with partner agencies like Victim Services and SART to help victims get support in ways that make them safe and comfortable. You are not alone and there are people and organizations who want to hear and listen.
