On Sunday, October 29th, around 1:45am, RCMP were called to the scene of a car accident in Dawson City on Dome Road. The driver and passenger of the vehicle had been leaving a party when the vehicle struck a large steel gate. The gate pierced into the passenger's side of the car.
The passenger was deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death and Refusing to Provide Breath Samples and is to appear in court in December. Traffic Services Collision Analyst attended to the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
