Selkirk RCMP investigating fatal two-vehicle collision

On October 11, 2021, at 7:15 pm, officers from the Selkirk RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 44 and Provincial Road 206, located in the RM of St Clements.

Investigators have determined that a vehicle travelling northbound on PR 206, being driven by an 87-year-old female from Selkirk, had stopped at the intersection of Highway 44 and proceeded onto the Highway when she was struck by an eastbound pickup truck, being driven by a 62-year-old male from Beausejour.

The 87-year-old female was pronounced deceased on scene.

The 62-year-old male was placed under arrest for Impaired Driving Causing Death and transported to hospital for minor injuries sustained in the collision. He has since been released from hospital and from custody with a court appearance scheduled for December 17, 2021, in Selkirk.


Selkirk RCMP, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist and our Criminal Collision Investigation Team, continue to investigate.
